Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 5, 2026
The short version
This summary is here to help you. It isn't a substitute for the full policy below.
- We collect only what we need to match you with a pro: your name, phone, email, ZIP code, borough, and job details.
- We share your job details with pros in your area, and your contact information only with the pro who accepts your request.
- We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use advertising trackers.
- You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your information at any time by emailing support@larkenconnect.com.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Larken Connect LLC ("Larken Connect," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information through larkenconnect.com, the Pro Portal, and our related emails and messages (the "Services"). It applies to homeowners who submit requests, to electricians and plumbers who use the Pro Portal ("Pros"), and to anyone who visits our site.
Pros are independent businesses. Once a pro receives your contact information, their own privacy practices also apply to how they use it. We require pros to use it only for your request (see Section 5).
2. Information we collect
2.1 From homeowners who submit a request
- Contact details: first and last name, phone number, and email address.
- Job details: the trade (electrical or plumbing), type of job, how urgent it is, your borough, and anything you type in the details box.
- ZIP code: we use it to confirm your borough, and we store it with your request so our team and the pros offered your request know what part of the borough the job is in.
- Your consent record: the date and time you agreed to our Terms of Use and to be contacted, and the version of the wording you agreed to.
- Messages with us: anything you send us by email or text.
We don't ask for your street address, and we don't need it. Please don't include sensitive information (such as financial or health information) in the details box.
2.2 From Pros
- Account details: name, business name, email address, and password. Passwords are stored in hashed form by our authentication provider, so we can't see them. If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive your name and email address from that service, but never your password.
- Profile details: your trade and the boroughs you serve.
- Verification details: your NYC Department of Buildings license number and the name on the license; your business name, business type (for example, sole proprietor or LLC), business address, business phone number, and website, if you have one; your insurance company and policy expiration date; and a copy of your certificate of insurance. We don't ask for your Social Security number or tax ID.
- Our review records: when we checked your information, what the public license record showed, and any changes we asked you to make.
- Your acceptance of the Pro Membership Agreement: the name and title of the person who accepted it, the version accepted, the date and time, and the IP address and browser used.
- Activity in the Pro Portal: requests offered to you, and whether you accepted, passed, or let them expire; your group memberships; and your membership status.
- Notification settings: if you turn on push notifications, a technical address for your browser or device that lets us send them.
- Payment and billing records: charges, refunds, failed payments, and receipts. Card payments are processed by Stripe, which collects your card details directly. We receive only limited card information, such as the card brand, the last four digits, and the expiration date. We never see or store your full card number.
2.3 Collected automatically when you visit
- Bot protection: our request form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam and bots. It processes your IP address and technical information about your browser and device. Cloudflare says it uses this information only to detect bots, not to identify, profile, or advertise to you.
- Site analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies. It records the page you visited, the referring page, your approximate location (country, region, and city), and your device, operating system, and browser type. It recognizes a repeat visit using a temporary code that's discarded within 24 hours, and it doesn't track you across other websites.
- Server logs: our hosting and database providers automatically keep short-term technical logs, such as IP address, date and time, and browser type, to run and secure the service.
- Cookies and local storage: we use only what's needed for the site to work, such as keeping Pros signed in and letting the Pro Portal work as an installable app. We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
- Payment pages (Pros only): the Pro Portal pages where Pros add a card or pay use code from our payment processor, Stripe. That code may set its own cookies and collect information about your device and browser to prevent fraud and confirm cards.
2.4 From other sources
- Referrals: if someone refers you to us, they may give us your name and contact information. We'll use it only to reach out to you about our Services.
- Public records: for Pros, licensing and business information from public sources.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Review requests, match them with pros, and deliver them;
- Communicate with you about your request or account, by email, phone, text, and push notification;
- Check pros' licenses and insurance, record pros' acceptance of their membership agreement, process payments, and manage memberships and billing;
- Prevent spam, fraud, and abuse, and keep the Services secure;
- Understand how the site is used, fix problems, and improve the Services;
- Keep records of consent and of our business, handle disputes, and meet legal obligations; and
- Enforce our Terms of Use.
We don't use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. How we share information
4.1 With pros, to handle your request
- Before a pro accepts: pros who are offered your request can see your name and job details (the trade, type of job, urgency, borough, ZIP code, and your details text). Most requests are offered to one pro at a time. Urgent requests may be offered to every pro in the small group that covers your borough and trade at the same time.
- After a pro accepts: only the pro who accepts your request receives your phone number and email address, so they can contact you about the job.
4.2 To verify pros
To confirm a pro's license or insurance, we may share the pro's name, business name, and license or policy details with the pro's insurer or a licensing agency.
4.3 With service providers who help us run the Services
These companies process information on our behalf and may use it only to provide their services to us:
| Provider | What they do for us |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, private file storage (such as pros' insurance certificates), and account sign-in. Data is stored on Amazon Web Services servers in the eastern United States. |
| Vercel | Website hosting and cookie-free site analytics |
| Resend | Sending our emails |
| Cloudflare | Bot and spam protection on our request form |
| GoDaddy | Domain services and our business email inbox |
| Google, Microsoft | Sign-in, only for Pros who choose to sign in with those accounts |
| Stripe | Processing Pros' payments: saving cards, charging membership and lead fees, refunds, receipts, and fraud prevention. Stripe's own privacy policy also applies to the payment details it collects. |
| Google Drive | Storing copies of business records |
If we add a text-messaging provider, it will receive only the information it needs for that job, and we'll update this list.
4.4 For legal reasons and safety
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it's required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or that it's needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of Larken Connect, our users, or the public.
4.5 If our business changes
If Larken Connect is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that deal. It will remain subject to this policy's protections.
4.6 With your permission
We'll share information in other ways only if you ask us to or agree to it.
4.7 What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising.
- We don't share mobile phone numbers, or text message opt-in data or consent, with any third party or affiliate for their marketing or promotional purposes. The only outside party that receives your phone number is the pro matched to your request, so they can respond to it, which is what you asked us to do.
5. How pros may use your information
Pros agree to our Terms of Use, which require them to use your information only to respond to your request and to do the job if you hire them. They also agree not to add you to marketing lists or share or sell your information, to contact you only between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. unless you ask otherwise, and to stop contacting you if you ask. If a pro doesn't follow these rules, please tell us at support@larkenconnect.com.
6. Calls and text messages
When you submit a request, you agree that we and the pro matched to your request may call, text, and email you about it, as described in our Terms of Use. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. You can opt out of texts from us at any time by replying STOP, or get help by replying HELP. You can also opt out by emailing support@larkenconnect.com. We honor opt-outs as soon as practicable, and within 10 business days at most. To stop hearing from a pro, tell the pro directly and let us know.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- Access the personal information we have about you;
- Correct information that's wrong;
- Delete your information; or
- Stop texts, calls, or emails from us.
To make a request, email support@larkenconnect.com from the email address you used with us, or tell us the phone number you used. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We'll respond within 30 days. Pros can also email us to update account details, including their trade or business name after they've submitted their details for verification.
A few limits apply. We may keep some information when we need it for legal reasons, such as proof that you agreed to be contacted, records of fees, or records needed to prevent fraud. And we can't delete information a pro already received for your request, but we can ask the pro to delete it.
We give these choices to everyone, wherever you live. If a privacy law in your state gives you additional rights that apply to us, we'll honor them. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We don't track visitors across other websites or sell personal information, so we don't respond differently to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals.
8. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy:
- Homeowner requests: up to 3 years after the request is closed. After that, we delete the information or strip out anything that identifies you, except for the consent record below.
- Consent records: up to 5 years, so we can show that we had your permission to contact you. After the first 3 years, we keep only what that proof needs: your phone number, the date and time you agreed, and the version of the wording.
- Pro accounts: while the account is active, and up to 3 years after it's closed. Billing and tax records are kept as long as tax law requires, generally up to 7 years.
- Pro verification and agreement records (license and insurance details, certificates of insurance, our review records, and the record of your acceptance of the Pro Membership Agreement): while the account is active, and up to 6 years after it's closed, because they're our record of what we checked and what we agreed.
- Emails with us: up to 3 years.
- Technical logs: for the short periods our providers set.
9. How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards that fit the size of our business and the sensitivity of the information we hold, as New York's SHIELD Act requires. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), database access rules that limit each pro to the requests offered to them, limited administrator access with an audit log of administrator actions, and bot protection on our request form. Pros' insurance certificates are kept in private file storage that only the pro who uploaded them and our administrators can open, and administrators view them through links that expire within minutes. We choose service providers that maintain industry-standard security.
No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you and the appropriate authorities as the law requires.
10. Children
The Services are for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information, email support@larkenconnect.com and we'll delete it.
11. Where information is stored
We operate only in New York City, and we store information in the United States.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top. If we make a significant change to how we use or share personal information, we'll give you notice before it takes effect, for example by email or with a notice on the site.
